- 中文摘要: Chinese cabbage, variety Green Petiole was used to study the absorption andtranslocation of strontium by plants. Radiostrontium was applied both to the rootsand to the foliage of the plants which were grown in nutrient solutions withvarying calcium concentrations, 0, 50, 100, 200 and 400ppm. Radioactivity wasmeasured for various plant parts and autoradiograms were prepared. The resultsmay be summarized as follows: 1. The absorption of Sr-89 by the roots of Chinese cabbage was progressively increased as the calcium concentration in the culture medium was increased. 2. The increase of absorption was continued up to a point, 10U ppm calcium in this case, where a steady reduction of absorption followed as the calcium concentration in the culture medium was further increased.3. The same situation was also found in foliar absorption of Sr-89 by Chinese cabbage.4. The translocation of root absorbed Sr-89 by Chinese cabbage was markedly affected by the calcium in the culture medium. When the concentration of of calcium in the nutrient solution was increased from zero to 400 ppm, the translocation(% absorbed Sr-89) was also incresed from 11.99 to 78.35%.5. The translocation, if there is any, of foliar absorbed Sr-89 was very small. The mobility of this element in the plant is low. Thus, the so-called trans- location is not affected by calcium ions present in the culture medium.
