N2O與銅粉的作用

利用了一個定容的循環反應系統研討了NO與銅粉的反應。 N是此反應的生成物,其產量以一精密的壓力計依理想氣體公式計量。當溫度低於80°C,NO祇與表面的銅起反應且形成CuO的表面結構。當溫度高於80°C,氧化反應會進一步的達至銅粉的內層,此內層氧化的反應需超越50 kT/mol的活化能。

Oxidation of copper powder by N0 has been studied in a recycled volumetric system. The yield ofN from this interaction has been measured with a precision pressure gauge. At temperatures less than80°C, NO reacts only with surface copper atoms.A comparison between BET surface area with the yieldof N suggests a stoichiometry coefficient of 3.0 ± 0.3 for Cu at monolayer oxidation. Sublayeroxidation becomes significant at temperatures higher than 80°C. The activation energy of incipient sublayeroxidation of copper by NO is found to be 50 KJ/mole.
