- 中文摘要: A method for automatic fitting with quadratic B-splines for curves represented by Fourier descriptors is proposed. The Fourier curve is represented by a series of connected quadratic B-spline segments, and these segments are fused using a control point splitting method so as to reduce the fusing errors. The maximum error between the fitting quadratic B-spline curve and the original Fourier curve is guaranteed to be bounded by the sum of the tolerances in segmentation and fusing. With this proposed approach, a link between the Fourier descriptor and B-spline function is established, and integration of machine vision with CAD/CAM (computer-aided-design/computer-aided-manufacture) is achieved.
