核分裂物分離熱實驗室的設計

清華大學兩個作為核分裂物分離的熱室已設計完成,其主旨在生產醫用同位素Tc與131I
。但亦可用為鈾分裂所產生放射性氣體色層分離之研究、濃化鈾收回與超鈾元素之研究,以及其
它鈾分裂所生同位素以離子交換與溶劑萃取方法分離之研究。
所設計之熱室係以可容納五百居里之鈾分裂物為計算標準。包括:防護牆厚之計算、防護鉛
玻璃窗之設計及規格、機械手之選擇,及熱室內放射性氣體吸收系統之設計與操作等。其建造所
需費用估計約新臺幣五百萬元。
所設計之兩熱室預計每月可生產醫用Mo-Tc發生器四十支,而其餘有關之研究與同位
素之生產,深信將對國家經濟與工業發展會有相當貢獻。

- 英文摘要:
Two multipurpose hot cells are being de-
signed to produce medical isotopes Mo-Tc
and 131Te-131I from fission products. The cell
also may be used for chromatographic separation
of rare gases, in-cell uranium and plutonium
recovery studies, and in-cell fission product sep-
arations by ion exchange and solvent extraction.
The designed cells could handle a maximum
of 500 Ci of radioactive fission products, based
on the estimation of the cell wall thickness,
the design of lead glass windows, and the
adsorption system of off gases from fission pro-
ducts. The total construction cost is estimated
to be NT$ 5,000,000.
These cells will produce enough Mo-Tc
to make 40 generators per month. Also, these
cells could be used for other research purposes
and separation of other useful isotopes from
fission products.
